Therapy for when you don't feel connected to your purpose, your passion, or the person you once were. Dr. Melissa Valentina helps adults suffering from depression rediscover who they are, and plan a route for where they’re going next.
Before managing mortgages, family, bills to pay, and work became the only things you had room for? Discovering yourself and the deeper meanings of life can mean positive changes in your viewpoint and making choices from your own inner wisdom. Personal growth is an ongoing process and is crucial to reaching your full potential. Knowing yourself helps give you the endurance and knowledge to reach and maintain your self-assuredness, strength, and self-confidence.
Imagine waking up in the morning assured that whatever happens, you will be able to deal with it peacefully and with grace. You make clear choices that honor yourself so you can live your truth in any situation. Imagine maintaining a connection with that timeless part of yourself, the part that knows how to heal, and to face life challenges with confidence and clarity. Imagine finally knowing what you want out of life, and the steps you need to take to get there.
How do you get to this place, where peace and self-esteem reign?
It requires a deep dive into the world within.
This connection with your true self—this timeless “you,” this quiet wonder you have carried with you all along—is something to be explored, something to discover on your journey inward—where the answers are.
What exists within you is a source of inner wisdom, and it is yours alone, unique to you. To expand and enhance that is how you expand and grow and help others grow.
Our therapy will be centered on you - your struggles and strengths - and getting you to a constant state of self-confidence, with hope about the future again. Together we will nurture your connection to your innate inner wisdom, and learn how to tune into the navigational pull of your heart’s desire.
What is the benefit of this internal focus, this discovery of self? The good things that come from learning about yourself are immeasurable. Honoring yourself and living your truth in this life are ways to realize what makes you happy and self-fulfilled. The discoveries made about yourself are guideposts, both marking how far you’ve come and where you have yet to go.
While you may not recognize what you’re going through as depression, therapy for personal development can help you gain insight and start moving towards the future with more confidence and clarity.
This new mindset will become natural for you. You will realize a renewed sense of hope. Even if you are unsure if your problem is serious enough, depression therapy may be able to help.
Is this how it will always be? There’s got to be more. Where did you lose yourself? When did making it through the day without crawling back into bed become an accomplishment?
can help you reclaim the person you once were and chart a course towards who you want to be.
Wake-up calls come in the form of relationship break-ups and divorce, loss of a loved one, car accidents that are life-altering, or any other event that shakes you to your core.
The questions that arise out of this vulnerable place often feel too big for any one person to comprehend.
So much of your time in a depressive spiral can be spent looking for answers to these real-life questions without engaging in real life at all.
Looking for the next step in your healing or personal growth process? Or maybe answers to those haunting spiritual questions? Many people today are searching for something more – more happiness, more contentment, more satisfaction. They’re constantly reaching, but they’re not sure what they’ll find.
My name is Dr. Melissa Valentina and I am here to guide you.
Depression Therapy consists of 50-minute, one-on-one sessions that help you work through your concerns. In addition to listening, I will provide guidance based on my experience and share what science tells us about what’s going on for you. I play an active role in your healing and growth.
Here’s how it will work step-by-step:
I will facilitate a safe, accepting space (yes, even in our virtual sessions) so that you will feel comfortable sharing your struggle with depression, self-confidence, and self-worth with me.
Through hearing your story and what’s going on for you right now, I will start to get a picture of what your challenges are. You’ll notice that just by voicing some of your concerns aloud, the fog will begin to dissipate.
Our work together will start by helping you address immediate concerns like developing motivation for change and learning to calm the raging emotions so that we can face them head-on.
As we work, we will identify your goals for therapy and everything beyond. Identifying and voicing your hopes is the first step toward making them a reality.
As we get specific about your dream for the future—a full life without the weight of depression—we can create concrete, actionable steps to help you get there.
By harnessing the aspects of our work together that allow you to feel successful and confident, we are re-creating your outlook on life and therefore yourself.
Depression therapy can positively change your thinking, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. It can help you let go of what’s holding you back. The tools you learn in depression therapy will be useful throughout your life.

If you are in a relationship, you have probably noticed that relationships are great at highlighting the parts of yourself that need healing. When you embark on this journey of working on yourself, you’ll find that you have more to bring to your romantic relationship, and truly any relationship in your life. You are better equipped to listen and contribute in a loving, more neutral way to any relationship, including the relationship you have with yourself. Connection with your true self is always there for you, to nourish you and provide the guidance you need. This is how you can face whatever life throws at you with confidence.
In our search for happiness, it’s worth remembering that the really great stuff usually does not come from external sources, but rather from the inside. Stuff like: calm, peace, strength, happiness, contentment, self-assuredness, the answers to life questions.
You are able to tackle whatever the day holds, knowing that you can handle it and are no longer second-guessing every step.
Even the most challenging situations are easier to navigate when you have a pulse on who you are, what you want, and who your supporters are.
You can move through the world from a calm center, with the knowledge of where you’re going next.
You have worked diligently on your career, your family, your assets. Now is a good time to work on yourself. Therapy is a great way to invest in yourself so that you are a better you.
Ask yourself, Who do you want to be in 5 years? 10 years? Who do you want to be for yourself, your family, and everyone else around you?
Will you continue to hoard your uniqueness - your gift to the world, your contribution to others? The answer to these questions and how you are in this world is the one thing that you can control.
Investing in yourself with therapy gets you to a calm understanding of yourself, helps you define what you want, and increases your self-esteem. And the investment is long-term because you learn skills that will serve you throughout your life. What does personal growth mean to you? How do you grow personally? This life is a journey of learning about yourself; what is important and what is not so important.
I help people make that inner connection because I have found it to be the best way to make progress – to honor yourself and live your truth.
When you are connected to your inner self, the discovery of who you are and how you want to show up in the world is soon to follow. Let’s get you feeling better and back to yourself so you can share more of those great inner qualities with the world around you.
Dr. Valentina has been an excellent source of support and advice. She really grasped my issues and my situation right off the bat, as if I was talking to an old friend. Her advice has already had a significant impact and I feel better equipped with the tools I need to get me through. She is great at making me feel at ease, I feel as if I am in very capable hands.
Dr. Melissa is a great hypnotherapist. She's helped me with an old trauma. We did a regression session. Ever since our session, I feel so much more relaxed. I contacted Melissa because of my anxiety. Which is completely gone now! I live in the Netherlands so we had an online session. Even though I was on the other side of the earth, Dr. Melissa made me feel like she was in the room with me. I felt safe and cared for. I definitely recommend Dr. Melissa, she's a kind and very professional woman.
