You work hard all year to provide for your family, so you owe it to yourself to enjoy the holiday time and the company of others. What can you do in preparing for your holiday time so you can enjoy being with those around you?
1. If you can, pay other people who are in the business of preparing food. This way you can support them in their work and take some of the stress off yourself.
2. What is your favorite dish or tradition? Keeping it simple, you can do those things that have sentimental meaning to you. Take your time enjoying the memories of preparing and participating in that tradition.
3. Get your rest. If you are lying there in the middle of the night, staring at the ceiling, close your eyes and know that, even though you are not asleep, you are resting in your warm bed, in your space.
4. Make some new traditions. What is it that you want to try doing with others? Is there a game that would bring people together?
These times are precious, and you are making memories that will last a lifetime for yourself and others.
Taking care of yourself and enjoying the company of others while maintain your peace of mind is paramount to your sense of well-being.
